What is Next for Tom Brady After the NFL?

The NFL’s all-time most successful and highly decorated star quarterback, Tom Brady, has now fully announced his departure from the sport which has now left many football fans to question who will look to surpass Brady as the greatest QB in NFL history and what endeavors the seven-time Superbowl champion will aim to embark on during his retirement years.
Following on from an underwhelming 2022/23 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which resulted in a decisive NFL wildcard loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Tom Brady once again announced his retirement from football with a full intervention to stay away from the game he adores and commit to other leisure across the sporting world.
Brady is the most successful athlete that the NFL has ever produced as he is a record seven time Superbowl winner with six wins coming with the New England Patriots and his seventh with the Bucs back in 2020.
After originally being drafted by the Pats in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, Tom Brady has gone onto to prove his worth as arguably the greatest QB of all-time as well as capturing several other individual accolades and accomplishments such as three regular season MVP awards, five Superbowl MVPs, fifteen Pro Bowl selections, three first team All-Pro as well as several other records for wins, competitions and passing touchdowns.
With Brady now gone, both the Pats and Bucs are still currently searching for a viable replacement at the game’s most important position, which could help to boost their latest Superbowl odds, whilst Brady himself is also heading into a potentially prosperous retirement that brings several intriguing opportunities to fruition.
-
Minority Share of the Las Vegas Raiders:
One of Brady’s first business ventures after announcing his retirement was to take up a 53% minority share in the coveted NFL franchise Las Vegas Raiders, who he famously defeated in the divisional round of the 2001 play-offs enroute to his first ring in a contest that is forever immortalized as the tuck rule game.
The Raiders will enter the new NFL season with Brady’s former QB teammate Jimmy Garoppolo as their latest signal caller to partner alongside star WR’s Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and super talent RB Josh Jacobs in the hopes of bringing about future long-term success to a franchise that has yet to win a playoff game since their 2002 Superbowl run.
There were rumors circulating that Brady could potentially be interested in signing for the Raiders or even the San Francisco 49ers as their starting QB and delaying his retirement for another year, yet Brady has now made it his mission to help the recently relocated Raiders franchise to rise back to providence and return to a contender status in a challenging AFC West division.
-
Minority owner of Birmingham City FC:
Not only does Brady have an interest in investing into teams within the NFL, but has also taken up a share in another sports league that plays its own unique brand of ‘football’.
Earlier this summer, Tom Brady announced via social media that he has officially become a minority owner of English soccer club Birmingham City who play in the EFL Championship, which is the secondary league in England.
Brady has already made a few appearances at the club’s home stadium St. Andrews, which included his attendance at their 1-0 home victory over Leeds United on the 12th of August, as well as spending time in local pubs and bars with Blues fans, who will be hoping that Brady’s NFL success could potentially translate over to the English game as they now aim to rise back up to the Premier League and compete against their bitter Second city rivals Aston Villa in the topflight.
- FOX Sports deal:
Perhaps Brady’s most highly touted endeavor during retirement came when he penned a ten year, $375 million contract with broadcasting giant FOX Sports in which he will become an NFL analyst during game coverages.
His former All-Pro teammate, Rob Gronkowski also has a contract with FOX Sports as an analyst which makes perfect sense for Brady to link up with Gronk again given their dominance as a QB-TE partnership during their playing days in New England and Tampa Bay.
Brady will not start his new role as an analyst until the fall of 2024 as he originally signed the contract with FOX back in 2022 before he ultimately decided to unretire and play one last season in the NFL, with this deal set to get underway straight after his playing career with this also being the most lucrative contract in the history of sports broadcasting.
Brady was recently given a full retirement ceremony during the half time of New England’s recent NFL week one encounter against Philadelphia, where his six Superbowl trophy’s that he won with the Pats were on display as well as Brady expressing his excitement to enjoy retirement with his family.
This is expected to be a tumultuous period in the life of TB12 as he looks forward to the newest business opportunities that he is raring to embark on, as well as enjoying more time with his loved ones and closest friends.
